I got my instructor certification at the age of 43 and it has been great. The way I see it at 43 you still have a whole lifetime ahead of you, i mean lets face it you start your adult life at around 18 or 20 so at 43 you have only been living for 23 years. If you consider retirement at around 65, in 22 more years, that is another whole lifetime. I say go for it! live your life now, don't sit back and wait for old age to really keep you down. I was certified as a Open Water Diver in 1993, now I am 43 years old. Life is too short. To fulfill my desire, I pursue my Advance Open Water last July 2009 and completed my Rescue and EFR Course August 2009. Now, I am continue for my Dive Master Course.
